Provide a learning venue that meets the needs of both stock market beginners and more advanced investors by offering a series of classes from basic to advanced that may be taken either as a full "Certificate Program" or as individual stand-alone classes.
Provide foundation knowledge (the "What"), how-to-do-it insight (the "How"), and hands-on practice doing (the "Performing") so students can jump-start their journey to becoming competent investing on their own. In other words, make the results actionable so the students can apply what they learn.
Focus on core (most relevant) information and skills necessary for effective investing and trading using well known, proven, and transparent methodologies and not "secret sauce" or get rich quick schemes.
Make the learning experience interactive and hands-on (Learn Theory, See Demonstration, Practice the Skill) and provide instructional learning aids, study questions, tools, templates, etc. to reinforce knowledge and facilitate the student's ability to perform.
Incorporate best practices in learning
Provide learning experiences in "Visual, Auditory, and Kinesthetic" formats to support the three ways people learn

This program is offered through Everett Community College (EvCC) with courseware developed and taught by Darrel Spayth.
Each investing and trading class is focused on the most relevant information and skills necessary for you to make effective use of what you learn in that topic area.
To successfully complete a class requires a minimum of 70% attendance, active participation, and completion of investing and trading learning objectives.
NOTE: Some employers offer Educational Tuition Reimbursement for our Investing and Trading Certificate Program. Check with your employer.

To fully participate and gain the maximum value from the stock market investing and trading program, a students will need:
Access to a personal computing device (e.g., computer, laptop, tablet, or mobile device) which students are encouraged to bring for use in their class.
A Google Account** (used to authenticate students) to gain access to:
Electronic course material (e.g., course slide deck, Google Docs, etc.).
Course provided training websites that supplement course material.
Google Classroom (used for course homework assignments*, quizzes*, conversation threads, etc.).
Google Shared Drives (used for distributing templates and for sharing files between students and the class).
* Homework and Quizzes are optional for students and are not used to determine satisfactory or unsatisfactory (S/U) grade.

Stock Investing and Trading Classes may be taken individually as a standalone educational unit for those who do not wish to pursue the full Certificate Program.
The only exception is, the "Investing Certificate Capstone" class has some prerequisite class requirements.
Recommendation: Speak with the instructor to confirm you have the foundation knowledge necessary to benefit during the learning of more advanced material and ensure your ability to contribute to your team's efforts during breakout sessions.

To be eligible for the "Investing Program Certificate" , you must take all the core classes.
Each class in the program builds upon the prior so classes should preferably be taken in the sequence shown (e.g., 1-->5).
Completing the five core classes, along with 24-hours of electives are required to achieve a Certificate in the Investing Program.
Electives may be taken at any time before applying for your "Investing Program Certificate".

This class focuses on the "Position-Trading" style. A position trader is a type of trader who holds a position in an investment for a more extended time, typically from several weeks to many years. Other than "buying and holding," it is the longest holding period among all trading styles and emphasizes larger per-trade performance results. Position-Trading is one of the most profitable investment styles and is more suitable for the trader who has a day-job than shorter timeframe trading. It is central to the methods of well-known traders like William O'Neil of Investors Business Daily (CANSLIM) fame.
This class is a hands-on application and expansion of what you learned in the Investing Certificate Program's core classes tailored specifically to Position-Trading. The goal is to create your trading edge to apply to a "Position-Trading" style. You will be provided with templates and a trading framework to expedite learning and set-up.

This class is taught from a Google Apps centric view using the Free version of Google Docs, Google Sheets, Google Finance, Google Chrome. However, these skills can also be applied to Microsoft's version of these Apps but require that the student perform any translation where needed on their own.
This is a hands-on class where you learn, then immediately apply what you learned to set-up, organize, and optimize your own personal free Google Account to fast-track your investing and trading. You will be provided with templates and a simple framework to expedite learning and set-up.
